András Rédli – bronze olympic medalist Rio de Janeiro 2016, European Champion 2014, World Champion 2013
It is the first time that you visite x-bionic® sphere. What is your overall impression of your whole venue?
I have never ever been in such a venue like this. This hotel and whole venue is amazing. Food, wellness, accomodation is just incredible. I also like the nature and animals in general, especially the horses so I find this place really unique. I am happy to be here.
Training boot camp is an important part of the preparation for the Olympics and the season in general. How is it going so far?
In two weeks, we will compete the European Championship and we want to represent our country as good as possible. This training camp is very important for us. Good thing is, that we are not always in Budapest, but we are able to train some place else and see other cities and cultures. Since Slovakia is bordering Hungaria, we have similar culture and customs, we feel very comfortable being here.
x-bionic® sphere is proud to be recognized as Olympic Training Centre. What was the atributes that made you come here for training boot camp?
We have Olympic training centre in Tata, Hungary. It is closer to Budapest than Samorin. But friend of mine lives in Slovakia and he fence as well. We competed together and we have a close friendship, therefore it is nice to visit a friendly country for training camp.
How does an ordinary training day of an Olympic fencer looks like?
Everyday we have two trainings, before the competitions we train even harder. There are merged trainings with juniors as well, because it is important to pass on experience and knowledge to the younger pupils and also solo trainings. We do also lot of workout – I am a soldier in Hungary and I work out in baracks with my fellow soldier colleagues.
Fencing training is a core of the whole preparation, however after-training recovery is important as well. Have you tried other services that x-bionic® sphere offers for a perfect recovery, such as wellness, swimming pools or gym?
We were at the gym and we are going to wellness today. I am looking forward to it. It is important to have good recovery. I am not the youngest in the team, I am 34 years old so the recovery is a big part of my preparation for competitions and I take it really seriously.
How do you rate local conditions for training boot camps compared to the other facilities you have visited?
We are professional fencers. We have our own Olympic training centre in Tata. I think it is important to have such a place in each country, where you can develop all skills needed for top sport performance.
Describe x-bionic® sphere in one word.
Incredible.
